Overview
Server Assistant role at Hyatt. This position involves assisting food service staff, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting service operations in a hotel/restaurant environment.
Responsibilities
Assist food service employees in delivering food to tables
Maintain cleanliness and attend to needs behind the bar
Clean tables, carry dirty dishes, replace soiled table linens; set tables
Replenish supply of clean linens, silverware, glassware, and dishes
Serve water, appetizers and coffee to patrons
Stock beverage and service areas; ensure supplies of items such as linens, silverware, glassware, and dishes
Set tables with clean linens, condiments, and other supplies
Scrape and stack dirty dishes and transport to kitchens for cleaning
Maintain a high level of cleanliness and safety in the work area
Adhere to dress code policies and operational standards
Qualifications
Six (6) months related experience in hospitality or service industry
Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) of the workplace
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures manuals
Job Requirements
Adhere to dress code policies during shift
Perform serving, cleaning, and stocking duties to facilitate customer service
Respond promptly to guest comments and concerns and inform supervisor as needed
Maintain adequate supplies of items such as clean linens, silverware, glassware, dishes, and trays
Ensure beverage and ice dispensers, cabinets, and serving areas are stocked
Stock and replenish at service bars/satellite stations
Set tables with clean linens and condiments
Carry dishes to kitchens for cleaning; clean tables, counters, and equipment in service areas
Wash glasses and other serving equipment; clean up spills and remove trash
Ensure open lines of communication with all departments to meet hotel needs
Maintain safety and sanitation standards; comply with OSHA requirements
Attend relevant meetings and follow all policies and procedures
Working Conditions
Moderate noise level typical of hotel/restaurant settings
Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds; heavier lifts require a second person per safety guidelines
Ability to stand, walk, and perform job duties for extended periods
