Our client, a growing and well-respected real estate investment and development firm, is seeking a Property Accountant to join their expanding team in Birmingham. This position was created to support the company’s continued growth and represents a long-term career opportunity within a collaborative, people-first environment. You’ll enjoy meaningful work, mentorship from experienced leaders, and the flexibility to work from home a few days each month after training. What You’ll Do
Manage day-to-day accounting for a portfolio of properties, including general ledger activity and bank reconciliations Maintain accurate property-level financials and support month-end and year-end close processes Prepare financial statements and performance reports for management review Partner with development, property management, and asset management teams to support ongoing projects Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis Support annual audits and ensure compliance with company policies and GAAP What You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 1+ years of accounting experience; real estate or property accounting experience a plus Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles Proficiency in Excel; experience with Yardi, MRI, or similar software preferred Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive, team-oriented attitude Why You’ll Love Working Here
