Overview
Senior Specialist, Grants Management – FEMA Grants Management (KPMG Advisory). This role is part of our Managed Services practice. We are seeking a candidate experienced in regulatory and compliance work related to disaster relief programs, with the ability to work in a collaborative, client-focused environment. Responsibilities
Provide technical advisory services related to relief programs for disaster recovery, including project and program coordination/management, strategic planning, and coordination with federal and state assistance programs for all disaster recovery efforts; navigate regulations and ensure compliance to maximize funding and expedite rebuilding Meet with counties or municipalities regarding disaster-related assessments, repairs, damage mitigation, cost documentation, permits, code compliance, progress payment requests, dispute resolution with FEMA/FDEM and other agencies, and grant close-outs Assist with clarifying requirements and documentation for eligibility and enrollment processes for housing assistance and other disaster aid programs; communicate and present information to clients and colleagues in a clear, logical, and concise manner Remain current on industry and regulatory topics and trends, applying insights to ensure program integrity during engagements Support internal and strategic growth initiatives; supervise and mentor associates, new hires, and interns; provide contractor and vendor coordination and oversight for disaster response teams Identify and communicate technical matters as a liaison to clients and engagement leadership; participate in or lead meetings with clients and the engagement team; proactively identify opportunities to enhance professional practices and processes and assist with business development initiatives, including proposal development Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold a respectful work environment Qualifications
Minimum three years of experience related to regulatory and compliance, or project/program management Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university Working knowledge of state and federal disaster aid programs/agencies (e.g., HUD, FEMA, CDBG-DR) Working knowledge of Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200) and FEMA PAPPG; ability to apply these frameworks to ensure compliance and effective program execution Experience assisting local and state governments affected by natural disasters through various federal disaster grant programs from formulation to closeout Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience supervising projects or teams Ability to travel as required Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship now or in the future Benefits and Compliance
