College Station, TX Responsibilities

Lead the preparation of General Ledger account reconciliations with sub-ledgers and ensure accuracy across postings. Assist in bank reconciliations to the General Ledger and resolve discrepancies, including stop payments, providing check copies, researching check exceptions, and processing wire transfers. Lead the processing and reconciliation of accounting documents including invoices, vendor statements, ADP payroll transactions, and journal entries. Lead financial audits (internal, governmental/client) as needed or in support of the Controller. Train and lead the accounting team on proper protocols, regulations and best practices. Review and code financial information for accuracy, including timekeeping records. Provide accounting and administrative support related to monthly management reports. Support Finance and Materials Management teams in conducting the annual physical materials inventory. Develop ad-hoc reports, including project reporting, and deliver analysis as needed. Ensure adherence to government rules/regulations and promptly report discrepancies to the Controller/management. Set up new contracts/projects in the accounting system, including access to contract/project timekeeping. Provide accounting and administrative support related to contracts/projects including calculation of overhead and labor rates and labor distributions. Provide back-up support in the absence of staff and senior accountants. Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and support external reporting obligations and audits. Maintain effective internal controls over accounting processes, ensuring adherence to US GAAP, SOX, and JSOX requirements. Post journal entries and reconcile general ledger accounts; gather data for annual tax return preparation. Perform monthly and quarterly reconciliations of sub-ledgers to the general ledger and resolve variances promptly. Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities and enhanced area reporting capabilities; maintain and update finance procedures. Perform ad hoc analyses and other duties as assigned. All other duties as assigned. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting or related field with 4+ years of accounting experience; fixed asset accounting experience is highly preferred. Experience with US GAAP and related regulations. Experience in data analysis or forecasting. Experience in finance auditing. Experience with SAP S/4HANA fixed assets module or other modules strongly preferred. Experience with revenue recognition principles and accounting. Experience in FP&A and budgeting. CPA certification preferred. High integrity and ethical conduct in financial activities. Exceptional attention to detail and ability to resolve discrepancies. Well-organized with strong prioritization abilities. Self-motivated with ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Ability to deliver results with urgency and a positive, collaborative, "can-do" attitude. Strong relationship-building skills with internal/external partners. Dynamic communication skills and ability to adapt style to different audiences. Excellent consultancy skills; able to advise others on difficult matters. Ability to perform daily tasks with minimal guidance; proficient in written and oral communication, organization, and analytical skills. Proficiency with accounting/financial software (including SAP) and Microsoft Excel. Demonstrated expertise in budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
