We especially welcome candidates whose expertise blends ecological research with advanced statistical analysis of biological and environmental data. The successful applicant will contribute to a highly interdisciplinary academic unit that includes environmental scientists, biologists, chemists, physicists, and geoscientists. This position will also be responsible for enhancing UW–Green Bay’s mission-driven commitment to inclusive teaching and creating an educational environment that acknowledges, encourages, and celebrates those with diverse identities, beliefs, and cultural backgrounds.## **Key Job Responsibilities:*** Teach lower- and upper-level courses in the undergraduate Biology and Environmental Science programs, including an introductory organismal biology course for majors, as well as lecture, field, or lab courses in the candidate’s area of expertise. A typical load is equivalent to 21 contact hours annually (approximately three courses per semester, depending on assignment).* Contribute to teaching at the graduate level in the Environmental Science and Policy and/or Biological Conservation and Management programs. We seek a candidate to teach the undergraduate and/or graduate-level Environmental Data Analysis course, plus courses aligned with the candidate’s expertise.* Implement inclusive instructional strategies to support students from underrepresented and first-generation backgrounds.* Develop a strong, externally visible research program that actively engages undergraduate and graduate students and fosters collaboration with faculty and community partners.* Advise and mentor students.* Perform scholarly activities consistent with rank.* Perform institutional and community service.* Contribute to ongoing program development.## **Department:**Natural & Applied Sciences## **Compensation:**Competitive compensation commensurate with qualifications and experienceThis position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).## **Required Qualifications:*** Earned doctorate in biology, ecology, environmental science, or a closely related field from an accredited institution. ABD candidates will be considered; however, an earned doctorate is a necessary condition for contract renewal. ABD candidates will be hired into a terminal appointment at the rank of Instructor with a rate determined at the time of hire. Upon degree conferral during the terminal period, the contracted appointment with the rank of Assistant Professor will be reinstated* Expertise in ecology with demonstrated experience in statistical analysis of ecological or environmental data* Ability to teach courses in UW–Green Bay’s Environmental Science and Policy and Biodiversity and Conservation graduate programs* Experience mentoring and training students in research activities* Evidence of scholarly productivity, including publications in peer-reviewed journals* Demonstrated potential to procure extramural funds to support research and outreach activities## **Conditions of Appointment:**The home campus of this position is Green Bay and the successful candidate may occasionally be required to teach a course or work at the Sheboygan or Manitowoc Campus, based on operational needs.Position is an academic year, tenure-track appointment.

Promotion from Assistant to Associate Professor is simultaneous with tenure.
