$6,000/month Cooper for North Carolina (CFNC) is looking to hire a full‑time Research Associate to join our growing Research team based in Raleigh, North Carolina. The Research Associate will work with the Research Director, Deputy Research Director, and the Research Department to conduct short‑ and long‑term research projects to help the campaign develop effective narratives for earned and paid media. The ideal candidate is a fast learner, detail‑oriented, and hard‑working. Qualifications

Prior political opposition research experience preferred, but candidates with backgrounds in academic or policy research with an interest in campaigns are encouraged to apply Exceptional written and verbal communication skills Exceptional critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and organizational skills Discretion and sound judgment when dealing with sensitive information Ability to meet tight deadlines under pressure Ability to learn quickly and implement feedback Responsibilities

Production of short‑ and long‑term research projects, such as background documents, audio/video research portfolios, and rapid response components using public records, news clips, campaign finance disclosures, personal financial disclosures, lobbying disclosures, travel records, and research databases Assist with the production of filing public record requests Vetting of individuals and entities affiliated with the campaign Maintenance of media monitoring records and daily clips Contribute to first drafts of research back‑ups Conduct on‑location research as necessary Additional support to the Research department as needed All other duties as assigned Compensation & Hours

Salary: $6,000 per month Healthcare premium covered by campaign. Hours: Full‑time position. This position’s schedule will vary based on the needs of the campaign and point in the cycle and is likely to require evening and weekend work over the course of the election cycle. This is an at‑will position expected to end after the 2026 election. Applicants should be committed to work for the entire election cycle.
