Seneca Falls Country Club is a semi-private, 18-hole country golf course located in the heart of the Finger Lakes and overlooking beautiful Cayuga Lake. The Club will be celebrating its 100th anniversary in August of 2025.
Seneca Falls Country Club is equipped with a modern watering system, operated by 3 brand new, state-of-the-art pumps. SFCC has the necessary golf course machinery to properly maintain the golf course, including a new green mower and a newly used fairway mower to complement our existing equipment.
The clubhouse was rebuilt in 2000, replacing the original clubhouse destroyed by fire in 1999.
Job Overview
:
This is a full-time, year-round salaried position with thirty (30) days off that must be used in December, January, February, or March. As Superintendent, you will be entrusted with the maintenance, operations, and management of the golf course. Responsibilities include turf grass/plant material maintenance programs, property/building/asset relations, personnel management, budget/forecasting, financial management, member relations, scheduling/maintenance of the irrigation system, pesticide applications, related recordings, and compliance with regulatory issues. The Golf Course Superintendent works to create an environment where staff is involved and enthusiastic, with open communications and respect for themselves, members, guests, and the property.
Job Responsibilities
:
Responsibility for all phases of Golf Maintenance and Agronomics operations, cost control, and personnel.
Works closely with, advises, and coordinates with the General Manager, Green’s Committee Chairperson, and the President of the Club on any issues related to golf course maintenance.
Directs and participates in the construction and maintenance of the grounds.
Designs landscape plans for facility grounds and implements the 2025 Long Range Improvement Master Plan Update.
Administers and enforces all Club rules, regulations, and policies for staff.
Advises and consults with the Greens Chairperson and President for reporting purposes to the Board of Directors.
Works closely with and directly reports to the President.
Must be able to work independently and be a self-starting problem solver.
Provides technical, operational, and safety training for employees to ensure that staff is working within OSHA, club, state, and federal guidelines for safety.
Oversees employees in proper and safe operation and maintenance of mechanical and power equipment. Plans and budgets for additional or replacement capital equipment.
Supervises and participates in the application and recording of chemical applications and water withdrawal for DEC reports on the grounds in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
Develops annual operating and capital budget and plans for capital improvement projects.
Oversees the care and maintenance of the golf course equipment.
Determines when the course should be closed due to weather conditions that may damage the course if play continues.
Possesses basic computer skills including the ability to navigate the internet, use email, understand file management, and proficiently use a desktop for irrigation implementation.

State certification or licensing as a pesticide applicator
