Overview
The Financial Crimes Quality Review Advisor conducts quality review assessments for Northwest Bank's Financial Crimes Department. Quality review assessments cover financial crime related workflows, including but not limited to Suspicious Activity Monitoring (SAM), Customer Due Diligence/Enhanced Due Diligence (CDD/EDD), sanction screening, investigations, and risk assessments. The advisor provides reporting to Financial Crimes management, suggests areas for improvement, and moderates guidance and supervision for the individual teams within the Financial Crimes Department regarding adherence to BSA/AML/OFAC/Fraud compliance functions and processes. The advisor also acts as a subject matter expert within and outside the department, identifying and providing enhanced training and coaching to improve all functions and processes associated with financial crimes.
Essential Functions
Identify operational gaps and areas for improvement prior to internal audits or federal examinations and escalate as necessary to department management Perform periodic quality assurance assessments and provide detailed analysis of the results to financial crimes management Document all quality review assessments thoroughly, accurately, and with high quality Compile metrics for regular reporting to Financial Crimes management Develop, evaluate, update, and maintain adherence for the Quality Review Program for Northwest Bank's Financial Crimes Department Ensure the program fits the company’s risk tolerance and is consistent with the overall Financial Crimes compliance program Provide support and education when financial crime risks exceed Northwest Bank’s risk appetite Work with Financial Crimes personnel to ensure potential issues are addressed and processes are remediated Collaborate with various areas of Northwest Bank to ensure policies, procedures, and processes cover risks appropriate for the bank’s size and complexity Develop and implement processes for audit or exam remediation efforts Assist leaders within Financial Crimes in developing and enhancing policies and procedures Drive adherence to Northwest Bank’s Financial Crimes Department policies to support the bank’s culture Maintain current awareness of regulatory environment and emerging financial crimes impacting Northwest Bank’s products/services
Additional Essential Functions
Ensure compliance with Northwest’s policies and procedures, and Federal/State regulations Use Microsoft Office and department-specific software to maximize technology tools and efficiency Work as part of a team Operate on-site equipment as needed
Additional Responsibilities
Additional job duties as assigned by management
Safety and Health for those without supervisory duties
Abide by the rules of the safety and loss prevention program Perform work tasks in a safe manner Report injuries to supervisor Know what to do in case of an emergency

Education
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
Work Experience
8 - 12 years Banking or regulatory experience; 5 - 6 years Financial Crimes, AML, BSA, OFAC and Fraud laws and regulations

Ability to establish effective working relationships among team members and participate in problem solving and decision making Ability to present ideas clearly and concisely to different audiences, verbally or in writing Ability to actively listen and facilitate open exchange of information Ability to establish courses of action, develop tracking systems, and use resources effectively Ability to make sound decisions using perceptive and analytical processes

Thorough understanding of Northwest Bank systems and functions conducted by the Financial Crimes Department. Knowledge and proficiency in all Financial Crimes and related processes as they pertain to BSA/AML/OFAC/Fraud.
