The ideal candidate for this role will bring seven (7+) years of experience and a background in financial services, capable of research (merchant service agreements, garnishments, levies, etc.).### **Position Overview:**A well-established litigation practice is seeking a seasoned **New York-admitted attorney** to provide **court hearing coverage** on a part-time, contract basis. This role supports a shareholder-level attorney whose practice spans **commercial litigation**, **banking and financial services**, **real estate**, and **bankruptcy**. The ideal candidate will have strong courtroom presence, excellent legal research skills, and the ability to handle procedural and substantive hearings independently.---### **Key Responsibilities:*** Appear in **state, federal, and bankruptcy courts** for hearings, conferences, and procedural matters.* Provide **post-hearing summaries** and updates to the lead attorney.* Conduct legal research on:

+ **Garnishment issues**

+ **Levies and seizure warrants**

+ **Merchant service agreements**

+ **State-specific statutes** impacting creditors’ rights and consumer protection* Assist with **compliance-related appearances**, including TROs, subpoenas, and discovery disputes.* Maintain a professional and confident **courtroom demeanor**.* Collaborate with internal legal teams as needed for case preparation and follow-up.---### **Qualifications:*** **Active admission to the New York State Bar** (required).* Minimum **7 years of litigation experience**, preferably in commercial, banking, or bankruptcy law.* Demonstrated ability to manage **court appearances independently**.* Strong legal research and writing skills, particularly in **financial services and compliance**.* Familiarity with **e-discovery**, **records retention**, and **ESI protocols** is a plus.* Reliable, punctual, and responsive with excellent communication skills.---### **Preferred Skills:*** Experience with **creditors’ rights enforcement**, **business torts**, and **consumer protection defense**.* Knowledge of **banking operations**, including commercial loans and payment systems.* Spanish language proficiency is a plus.---### **Compensation:**Competitive hourly rate commensurate with experience.
