Position Summary
This position is responsible for assisting in the operation of multiple facilities and performing low voltage system duties as assigned. What you'll do
Essential functions include: Sets up and configures various low voltage systems (for example, security systems, fire alarms, CCTV, audio/video systems, network cabling). Runs, terminates, and labels cables according to project requirements and industry standards. Performs regular maintenance checks to ensure system functionality and reliability. Identifies and resolves issues in low voltage systems promptly to minimize downtime. Restores faults or damages to optimal working condition. Provides technical support and training to end users on how to operate and maintain low voltage systems. Addresses customer inquiries professionally. Ensures all installations and repairs adhere to local, state, and federal regulations. Follows all safety guidelines to prevent accidents; maintains accurate records of installations, maintenance, and repairs; generates reports on system performance; evaluates existing systems for upgrades or enhancements; performs upgrades as needed. Works closely with other technicians, engineers, and project managers to ensure successful project completion; communicates effectively with clients to understand needs and provide appropriate solutions; stays current with industry trends and best practices. Leads and participates in teams by coordinating work, sharing resources, and supporting timelines and quality; assists in mentoring others and adapting to changing challenges. Develops and implements processes to meet business needs; collaborates with managers, coworkers, customers, and partners; analyzes information and monitors results; identifies improvement opportunities. The following physical activities are necessary to perform essential functions of this position: Communicates effectively; enter and locate information; handle objects with varying size and weight. Moves, climbs ladders, lifts up to 50 pounds; kneels, bends, twists, and traverses work areas. Safely operates motor vehicles and power equipment; sits or stands for extended periods; visually inspects equipment and documents information. Travel
Travel is necessary to perform one or more essential functions of this position. Domestically travel between facilities or work sites with overnight stays may be required; extended travel (seven days or more) is not required except for management training and emergencies. Work Environment
Working in environments that may include confined spaces and lifting or moving merchandise and supplies as part of daily duties. Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent. Prior work experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams. Prior work experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment. Prior work experience in a role requiring knowledge of local electrical codes and standards. Preferred Qualifications
Training or certification in low voltage systems. BICSI Installer Certification. CompTIA certifications for networking (e.g., Network+). Manufacturer-specific certifications (e.g., Honeywell, Axis, Bosch); OSHA 10 or 30 hour certification/training. NICET 1 & 2 Fire Alarm certification.
