Regional Sales Manager , you will be primarily responsible for developing and implementing effective strategies to exceed Spine territory market share/revenue objectives. This will be accomplished by leading, managing, and developing a sales team to represent VB Spine as a leader in our industry and the marketplace.
What You’ll Do
Plan and direct staffing, training, mentoring and performance evaluations to develop a sales team. Direct and coordinate sales activities to achieve/exceed sales targets, including Total Sales, Percent Growth, Dollar Growth, and Market Share by product category; review operational records and reports to project sales and determine profitability. Resolve customer complaints regarding sales and service. Prepare, monitor and manage budgets and expenditures. Confer or consult with department heads on new product launches to maximize our revenue and efficiency in the territory. Establish and build long-term, stable relationships with key surgeons, clinicians, and evaluators to drive product innovation, education, and enhance our overall brand and drive market leading growth. Manage a multi-site sales force involved in end-to-end fulfillment of customer needs and expectations. Recruit, engage and retain Talent; success will be measured by number of sales reps achieving quota, headcount vs. budget, and regrettable rep departures. Work with internal resources to determine price schedules and discount rates. Collect, monitor and analyze marketing information to determine focus of sales efforts. Direct, coordinate, and review activities in sales and service accounting and record keeping, and in receiving and shipping operations. Design and implement new sales plans and effective marketing strategies to position the organization competitively and meet/exceed territory objectives. Identify the needs of new prospects and develop appropriate responses (written, telephone and face-to-face). Perform field calls for the accounts and assigned territory (including “on-call” and operating/emergency room consultation) as needed. Identify and drive cross-sell and additional products or manage new product introductions as they become available. Address any problems that arise within the assigned territory related to employment, customer, or accounts. Drive compliance and the principles of responsibility (AdvaMed) by maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of information, protecting the assets of the organization, acting with ethics and integrity, reporting noncompliance, and adhering to applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, accreditation and licenser requirements, and Company’s policies and procedures. Work with other sales leaders in coaching, training and/or mentoring sales employees. Maintain training in sales skills and products. Remain current on industry, customer, and competitive trends. Meet with key clients to assist sales team with maintaining/fostering relationships and negotiating and closing deals. Host, attend and participate in sales meetings. Represent company at trade or association meetings to promote products.
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year accredited college or university, required. MBA or other advanced degree in business, preferred. 5+ years demonstrated successful sales experience in the medical device or related industry required, spine preferred. Experience managing P&L, preferred. Sales leadership experience strongly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems. Demonstrated success in developing and managing a business plan. Demonstrated success in asset management, talent acquisition, and people engagement. Leadership and ability to manage complex customer relationships in a healthcare setting including surgeons, clinicians, hospital administrators, Group Purchasing Organizations. Proven ability to attract, engage, and develop sales talent. Demonstrated ability to use performance management systems to conduct timely and meaningful performance planning, performance monitoring, feedback, and performance reviews. Demonstrated record of overachieving sales and financial goals (e.g. Quota, accounts receivable, expense budget, cost of sales). Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift and carry samples and surgical instruments kits up to 40 pounds. Must be available on 24-hour per day basis, to respond to customer emergencies as dictated by territory and account requirements. Travel required within Territory, in support of other Territories within the Region, and to national/area sales meetings and conventions. This position requires the handling of instruments that may have been contaminated by blood or other bodily fluids. Pay for this role is competitive and based on experience, with additional factors like territory requirements, qualifications, and performance taken into account. The typical pay range for this position is
$120,000 – $150,000
annually, with potential for bonuses and incentives plus benefits. Final compensation is determined on
