Full Time. Hours vary. May require working evenings, weekends, and holidays. Job Function
The Special Events & Community Relations Specialist develops annual plans to organize, coordinate, and promote special events that generate funding for programs in Springfield and Clark County, including a major Christmas distribution. The role involves working closely with Corps officers to identify marketing, community relations, and volunteer recruitment opportunities, and with the Divisional Development Director for donor cultivation. Representation at community events and adherence to branding and ethical guidelines are essential. Responsibilities
Establish engaging events to promote activities and increase awareness. Manage social media accounts and update the website with current information. Coordinate with DHQ to advance donor relationships. Attend quarterly meetings with the Divisional Director of Development and Corps Officers. Represent The Salvation Army professionally at seasonal and community events. Coordinate Christmas fundraising efforts, including overseeing the kettle program and organizing related events. Other Duties
Maintain confidentiality of all information. Follow policies regarding activity and productivity reporting. Qualifications
Support and reflect The Salvation Army’s mission and values. Bachelor’s degree or 2-4 years’ experience, preferably in non-profit. Strong social media, communication, and proofreading skills. Organized, detail-oriented, adaptable, and able to manage multiple projects. Proficient in Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, and internet research; experience with donor software and website management preferred. Valid driver’s license and ability to meet insurance standards. Additional Information
