Responsibilities
Provide best-in-class guest service: promptly greet guests; respond to guest questions/concerns quickly, effectively, and courteously; assist guests with meeting their video gaming needs; inform guests of special promotions; recommend additional items as appropriate; apply all selling behaviors during every transaction and thank every guest for shopping at GameStop; prioritize guests over tasks and demonstrate that commitment by circulating throughout the store. Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and the guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business. Promptly and accurately process guest purchases/return transactions using POS system; ensure correct changes, proper bagging, receipts, and top-notch guest service. Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager as needed. Promote GameStop’s guest benefits, e.g., new title reservations, trade-in program, and Pro Rewards loyalty program. Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations for store associates and training in company policies and guidelines. Observe associate performance, provide feedback, and address performance as directed; ensure alignment with guest service expectations. Provide recognition and feedback to store associates; document feedback in the HR system in partnership with the Store Manager. Ensure onboarding, job training, and compliance training are completed prior to opening or closing shifts; ensure knowledge of policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, financial protocol, and ethics. Schedule store associates, manage breaks/meals, and supervise staffing to maintain optimum guest service levels. Approve payroll, manage paid time off, and verify time worked. Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising per guidelines; ensure fixtures and equipment are in proper working order. Ensure Omni-Channel orders are fulfilled and shipped daily. Protect company assets through inventory control and loss prevention practices; conduct safety inspections and report concerns to the Store Manager. Support the team in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete required administrative duties. Perform inventory counts, stock restock, and move products to ensure the sales floor is represented and organized. Balance and reconcile daily transactions in the POS system; manage cash and bank deposits per guidelines. Verify shipments for discrepancies; conduct inventories and communicate issues to management. Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls with proper labeling and packing. Monitor associate and guest safety; address hazards and report injuries per guidelines. Maintain store records/files neatly; ensure manuals are up to date. Supervise and delegate tasks in the absence of the Store Manager. Adhere to company policies and standards, including the Associate Handbook and Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct. Adhere to opening and closing procedures. Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field. Experience: retail management preferred (6+ months); retail sales/guest service/management experience preferred (2+ years). Video game knowledge preferred. Job Details
