Responsibilities
Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests promptly, respond to questions/concerns quickly and courteously, assist with video gaming needs, inform guests of promotions, recommend items, and demonstrate selling behaviors during every transaction. Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and guest relationships that drive sales and repeat business. Process guest purchases/returns accurately using the POS system, provide receipts, and ensure high-quality guest service. Respond to guest questions in person or by phone and escalate issues to the Store Manager when appropriate. Promote GameStop guest benefits (e.g., reservations, trade-ins, Pro Rewards). Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates in policies and guidelines. Observe performance, provide feedback, and address unsatisfactory performance in partnership with the Store Manager. Provide recognition and feedback to store associates; document feedback in the HR system as required. Ensure onboarding, training, and compliance training for associates prior to opening/closing shifts; understand policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, and ethics. Schedule store staff to meet guidelines, supervise staffing to maintain guest service levels. Approve payroll and ensure associates are paid accurately and on time. Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising per guidelines; ensure equipment is in working order. Fulfill Omni-Channel orders daily. Protect assets through inventory control and loss prevention; communicate concerns to the Store Manager. Support the team in achieving sales, profit, and shrink goals; complete required administrative and operational duties. Conduct inventory counts, restock merchandise, and ensure products are well represented on the sales floor. Balance and reconcile daily transactions; manage cash and bank deposits per guidelines. Verify shipments for discrepancies and conduct inventories; communicate issues to leadership. Process defective items/recalls and ensure proper labeling and packing lists. Maintain associate and guest safety; report injuries per guidelines. Maintain organized store records; ensure manuals are up to date. Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager. Adhere to GameStop policies and the Associate Handbook and Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct. Follow opening and closing procedures. Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred. 6+ months of retail management experience preferred. 2+ years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred. Video game knowledge preferred. Key Job Skills and Abilities
Outgoing, welcoming personality with strong people skills. Genuine, individualized guest assistance. Clear verbal and written communication; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet objectives. Ability to work independently and in a team; manage time effectively. Reliable, trustworthy, and able to exercise good judgment. Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and some holidays (minimum 3 days/week). Ability to stand for extended periods; capable of lifting up to 30 lbs and basic physical tasks.
