he Safety Coordinator supports the development, implementation, and maintenance of safety, health, and environmental programs within the sheet metal manufacturing facility. This role assists in ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies while promoting a strong culture of safety among all employees.

Pay: Compensation is flexible and will be based on experience, qualifications, and skill level.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in developing and maintaining safety policies and procedures specific to sheet metal fabrication and production processes.

Conduct routine safety inspections, risk assessments, and job hazard analyses under the direction of the Safety Manager or EHS leadership.

Help ensure ongoing compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable local, state, and federal regulations.

Support the investigation of accidents, incidents, and near-misses; assist in report preparation and follow-up on corrective actions.

Coordinate and deliver safety training sessions, including topics such as lockout/tagout (LOTO), PPE, forklift safety, and machine guarding.

Maintain accurate records of employee training, safety audits, and incident reports.

Assist in the coordination of emergency response plans and drills.

Work collaboratively with supervisors and maintenance staff to identify and communicate potential hazards.

Participate in safety committee meetings and encourage employee engagement in safety programs.

Ensure visiting contractors comply with plant safety rules and procedures.

Stay informed on current safety regulations and best practices in manufacturing safety.

Qualifications

Associate degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or related field (Bachelor’s preferred).

1–3 years of safety experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, preferably with exposure to metal fabrication processes.

Working knowledge of OSHA standards and safe practices related to fabrication, welding, and machinery.

Strong communication, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with safety management systems.

OSHA 30-hour certification preferred.

Physical Requirements

Regular walking and standing within the plant environment.

Ability to climb ladders, enter confined spaces, and lift up to 40 lbs.

Exposure to common manufacturing conditions such as noise, dust, and elevated temperatures.
