Responsibilities The Senior Electrical Test Technician 3 works independently on small to medium-sized projects or as part of a larger, more complex project. The Senior Electrical Test Technician is responsible for the overall administration, organization, and implementation of the project. Responsible for developing Electrical Testing Program for duty site and serve as the subject matter expert over the division's Operation and Maintenance program. Manage or train operations staff to operate (monitor and control) all system control applications, maximizing efficiency and revising controls as needed. Assist in developing processes, SOPs, and training programs for operators monitoring complex mechanical, electrical, and building control systems. Assist in implementing procedures using CMMS to schedule, dispatch, track, and report maintenance activities. Manage the integration, reliability, and functionality of building control systems including SCADA, Delta Controls, and Life Safety Systems. Coordinate with the Program Manager to optimize system performance and meet energy goals. Provide oversight; troubleshoot operational problems. Assume supervisory responsibilities during electrical testing activities. Assist in developing electrical work and project schedules. Implement ORM safety procedures, conduct safety meetings, and maintain safety records. Perform troubleshooting, SCADA, Building Management Systems, relay testing, SKM power systems, ETAP, short circuit, and Arc Flash studies. Qualifications Minimum 7+ years of relevant electrical experience with a High School Diploma/GED. Valid/active U.S. Work Authorization. Expectations of Expertise & Knowledge: NETA / NICET certification (preferred) or equivalent experience. Strong understanding of ANSI, IEEE, NETA, NFPA, NEC, OSHA standards. Ability to interpret electrical schematics and manuals. Proficiency with test equipment such as Doble, Omicron, Megger, Vanguard, and Fluke meters. Knowledge of insulation resistance, power factor, contact resistance, Hi-Pot testing. Understanding of medium/high-voltage systems up to 500kV, including arc flash hazard analysis. Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills. Willingness to travel and work in industrial, data center, and utility environments. Ability to work safely with minimal supervision. Perform acceptance and maintenance testing following NETA standards. Conduct relay testing, calibration, and programming. Perform circuit breaker and switchgear testing. Troubleshoot faults and perform root cause analysis. Conduct transformer testing. Adhere to safety protocols, including LOTO and PPE. Maintain detailed test reports. Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and clients. Mentor junior technicians. Desired Qualifications: OEM certified field service training program. Relocates a 12-foot stepladder without assistance. Works at heights up to 60 feet, climbing and maintaining balance on scaffolds, lifts, and ladders. Performs routine movements such as walking, climbing, lifting, and reaching overhead. Good vision, color perception, and communication skills in English. Uses ladders with tools without exceeding weight limits. Recognizes problems but does not solve them. Applies rules to specific problems to produce logical answers.
