The Overlake School is hiring a dynamic, relationship-driven part-time Art Teacher - Painting for the second semester (January - June). Courses taught will be Middle School Painting (7th-8th grade) and Upper School Painting (9th-12th). The ideal candidate fosters a love of art, supports students’ academic and personal growth, and contributes to a collaborative learning environment. Salary: $61,987 - $118,388, depending on Education and Experience, 50% FTE. To apply, you must have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent and be able to pass a Washington State background check. The ideal candidate has a minimum of three years of art teaching experience at the secondary school level, with emphasis on painting, an advanced degree in art and/or education, and a passion for working with middle and high school students. Responsibilities
Teach Middle School Painting (7th-8th grade) and Upper School Painting (9th-12th grade) for the second semester. Support student growth in artistic skill, critical thinking, and personal development. Collaborate with department colleagues and grade-level teams to create an inclusive, equity-centered classroom environment. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts or related field; a master’s degree and/or teaching credential is preferred. Computer literacy and ability to integrate technology into the classroom. Commitment to cultural competency and working with a diverse student population in an inclusive community. Belief in high standards of scholarship and ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues. Ability to collaborate with colleagues inside and outside the department.
