Sales Specialists are active, moving throughout the store or garden center, answering phones, and talking to customers. You’ll spend most of your time communicating with customers—discussing project needs, answering questions, and helping them accomplish home improvement goals. You will become the product expert, informing customers of specifications, features, promotions, and financing options to close a sale. Your consulting services help ensure customer needs are met before leaving the store. You will be working in one of the following departments, based on hiring needs and skillsets: Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Millwork, Fashion Plumbing, Outlet, Tool Rental, Pro, or Windows & Walls. Key Responsibilities
Provide SMART customer service by understanding customer needs, communicating product advantages, and guiding decisions. Serve as a point of contact for customers and vendors within your department, providing project estimates, scheduling installer visits, processing and tracking orders/installations, and following up to ensure project completion. If in the Pro Department, focus on external accounts and outside sales and services. Monitor inventory levels to support sales, coordinating with vendors and other stores for merchandise and replenishment. Perform price reviews and maintain pricing documentation. Support all checkout functions and requests for assistance. Train associates on the Sales floor and coach around development needs. Complete other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED 1 year of experience in customer-facing sales or 6 months of Lowe’s retail experience (or 3 years of external customer-facing sales, or 18 months Lowe’s retail if education is not met) 1 year of sales or customer service experience with sales goals or metrics Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic Ability to stand and sit for prolonged periods Minimally lift 25 lbs unassisted or over 25 lbs with accommodation Obtain sales-related licensure or registration if required by state law (Lowe's will support and fund this) Preferred Qualifications
1 year of experience completing customer sales orders Experience promoting product-related services such as installation, delivery, credit financing, or extended protection plan 2 years of experience designing customized products using CAD software Professional certification related to the department Bi-lingual skills Travel and Working Conditions
This role does not require regular travel but may involve occasional travel to meetings, training, or support for neighboring stores. Environmental factors vary by location and may include inside and outside conditions, varying climates, and exposure to noises or moving equipment. Lifting guidelines allow up to 75 pounds for team lifts when needed. About Lowe's
