Responsibilities

Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests, respond to questions/concerns quickly and courteously, assist with gaming needs, inform guests of promotions, and promote sales behaviors during transactions while circulating throughout the store. Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business. Process guest purchases and returns accurately using the POS system, including handling cash and providing receipts with top-notch guest service. Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager as needed. Promote GameStop guest benefits (e.g., reservations program, trade-in program, Pro Rewards). Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates on policies, procedures, practices, and guidelines. Observe associate performance, provide feedback, and address unsatisfactory performance as directed; align store associates with guest service expectations. Provide recognition and feedback to store associates; document written feedback in the HR system in partnership with the Store Manager. Ensure onboarding, job training, and compliance training are completed prior to opening/closing shifts; knowledge of policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, financial protocol, and ethics. Assist with scheduling store associates, ensuring guidelines are followed; supervise staffing to maintain guest service levels. Approve payroll, manage paid time off, and verify compensation for time worked. Maintain store cleanliness, organization, merchandizing per guidelines, and proper functioning of fixtures and equipment. Ensure Omni-Channel orders are fulfilled and shipped daily. Protect company assets through inventory control and loss prevention; inspect packages at closing or end of shift as appropriate; communicate concerns to the Store Manager. Support the store team in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete administrative duties. Perform inventory counts, restock merchandise, and move products to ensure representation and organization on the sales floor. Balance and reconcile daily transactions; manage closeout paperwork and daily bank deposits per guidelines. Verify shipments for discrepancies, conduct inventories, and report discrepancies to the Store Manager/District Manager. Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls; ensure proper labeling and packing lists. Maintain awareness of guest and associate safety; report injuries per guidelines. Assist in maintaining store records/files; ensure manuals are up to date. Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the Store Manager\'s absence. Adhere to GameStop policies and procedures and opening/closing procedures.

Qualifications

Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent; associate\'s or bachelor\'s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred. Retail management experience preferred (6+ months). Retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred (2+ years). Video game knowledge preferred.

Key Skills and Abilities

Outgoing, welcoming personality with strong people skills. Provide genuine, individualized assistance to every guest. Clear verbal and written communication; English required (bilingual English/Spanish preferred). Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet objectives. Work independently and in a team; adhere to performance standards and safety. Operate POS system; basic math and alphabetizing skills. Complete required paperwork properly and follow written or spoken instructions. Flexible schedule, including extended hours, nights, weekends, and some holidays (minimum 3 days/week). Remain reliable and trustworthy; able to work alone; able to stand/move for up to 12 hours; lift up to 30 lbs. Understanding of relevant policies and, if applicable, military base store requirements.

Benefits and Compensation

Benefits: Full-time store positions may participate in incentive programs, 401(k), paid time off, dental, vision, and health insurance. Bonus and/or other incentives may apply. Compensation: $16.25 - $20.25 per hour.
