Responsibilities

Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests promptly; respond to questions/concerns quickly, effectively, and courteously; assist guests with meeting their video gaming needs; inform guests of special promotions; recommend additional items as appropriate; apply all selling behaviors during every transaction and thank every guest for shopping at GameStop; circulate throughout the store to prioritize guests over tasks. Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business. Process guest purchases/returns accurately using the Point-of-Sale (POS) system; handle transactions with correct changes, provide receipts, and ensure top-notch guest service. Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager when appropriate. Promote GameStop\’s guest benefits (e.g., new title reservations, trade-in program, Pro Rewards). Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates in company policies, procedures, practices, and guidelines. Observe associate performance, provide feedback, and address unsatisfactory performance as directed; ensure alignment with customer service expectations. Provide recognition and feedback to store associates; input written feedback into the Workday HR system in partnership with the Store Manager. Ensure associates have completed onboarding and training prior to opening/closing shifts; maintain knowledge of policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, financial protocol, and ethical responsibilities. Schedule store associates to meet scheduling guidelines; supervise staffing to maintain optimal guest service. Approve payroll, manage paid time off, and verify time worked. Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising per company guidelines; ensure fixtures and equipment are in proper working order. Fulfill Omni-Channel orders daily. Protect company assets through inventory control and loss prevention; inspect packages at closing as appropriate; communicate concerns to the Store Manager. Support the store team in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals; complete required administrative and operational duties. Conduct inventory counts, restock merchandise, and organize products on the sales floor. Balance daily transactions; complete closeout paperwork and bank deposits as required. Verify shipments for discrepancies and conduct inventories; communicate discrepancies to the Store Manager/District Manager. Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls promptly with proper labeling and packing lists. Maintain associate and guest safety; address potentially hazardous situations and report injuries per guidelines. Assist in maintaining store records/files; ensure manuals are up to date. Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager. Adhere to GameStop policies and procedures and follow opening/closing procedures. Qualifications

Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate\’s or bachelor\’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred. At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred. At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred. Video game knowledge preferred. Outgoing and welcoming personality with strong people skills. Provide genuine and individualized assistance to every guest during every visit. Clear verbal and written communication and listening skills; English proficiency required; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet objectives. Work independently and in a team to perform tasks in a timely manner. Meet performance expectations for attendance, appearance, safety, and respectful workplace. Operate POS system; basic math and alphabetizing skills. Complete required paperwork properly; follow instructions; execute financial tasks in accordance with policy. Flexible schedule including extended hours, nights, weekends, and some holidays (minimum 3 days/week). Remain reliable, trustworthy, and capable of working under pressure; problem-solving skills. Ability to stand and move for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs where required. Onboarding knowledge related to store policies and insignia where applicable (military base locations).
