Provide best-in-class guest service: promptly greet guests; respond to guest questions/concerns quickly, effectively, and courteously; assist guests with meeting their video gaming needs; inform guests of special promotions; recommend additional items as appropriate; apply all selling behaviors during every transaction and thank every guest for shopping at GameStop; prioritize guests over tasks and demonstrate that commitment by circulating throughout the store. Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and the guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business. Promptly and accurately process guest purchases/return transactions using Point-of-Sale (POS) system; ensure correct changes, bagging, receipts, and top-notch guest service. Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; answer phone calls promptly and professionally; escalate issues to the Store Manager when appropriate. Promote GameStop’s guest benefits, e.g., new title reservations, trade-in program, and Pro Rewards loyalty program. Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations for store associates and training in company/store policies, procedures, practices, and guidelines. Observe associate performance, provide timely feedback to the Store Manager, and address unsatisfactory performance as directed to align with guest service expectations. Provide recognition and feedback to store associates; regularly document performance in Workday / HR system in partnership with the Store Manager. Ensure onboarding, job training, and compliance training for associates prior to opening or closing shifts; ensure associates know policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, financial protocol, and ethics. Schedule store associates in accordance with scheduling guidelines, manage breaks and meals, supervise staffing levels, and maintain a best-in-class guest service environment. Approve payroll, manage paid time off, and verify time worked for all store associates. Maintain store cleanliness and organization, ensure fixtures and equipment are in proper working order, and ensure shelves are merchandised per guidelines. Fulfill Omni-Channel orders and ensure daily shipping. Protect company assets through inventory control and loss prevention; conduct security checks at closing as needed; communicate concerns to the Store Manager. Support the store team in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals; complete required administrative tasks. Perform inventory counts, restock merchandise, and ensure products are represented and organized on the sales floor. Count, balance, and reconcile daily POS totals; prepare closeout paperwork and bank deposits as required. Verify shipments for discrepancies; conduct inventories and communicate issues to management. Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls; label boxes with packing lists. Maintain safety awareness and address hazardous situations; report injuries per guidelines. Maintain store records/files; ensure manuals are up to date. Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager. Adhere to GameStop policies and procedures, including the Associate Handbook and Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct. Open and close procedures in accordance with store policy. Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or accredited bachelor’s degree with emphasis in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred. At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred. At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred. Video game knowledge preferred. Outgoing and welcoming personality with strong people skills. Provide genuine and individualized assistance to every guest during every visit. Clear verbal and written communication and listening skills in English; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment. Work independently and within a team to perform tasks in a timely manner. Meet associate performance expectations, including attendance, personal appearance, safety, and respectful workplace. Operate Point-of-Sale (POS) system. Possess basic mathematics and alphabetizing skills. Complete required paperwork properly; follow instructions; execute financial tasks per policy. Maintain a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and some holidays; minimum 3 days per week availability. Constructively manage pressure and adapt to stressful situations while maintaining guest interactions; problem solving. Be reliable and trustworthy; always use good judgment. Able to work alone and stand/move for extended periods. Physical requirement: lift up to 30 lbs; ability to reach, bend, and climb as needed.
