Overview Scheck Hillel Community School , a private school located in North Miami Beach, Florida, has an opening for an experienced full-time Elementary General Studies Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year.

Responsibilities

Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and engages students while supporting a cohesive and effective curriculum

Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning and meet the needs of all learners

Communicate clear learning targets and success criteria to students for all activities

Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment

Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction

Develop formative and summative assessments in accordance with established procedures

Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly

Manage student behavior to facilitate learning and maintain classroom discipline

Maintain accurate and complete records of students\' progress as required by laws and school policies

Communicate regularly with parents regarding academic progress and behavior

Ensure the safety and security of students in classroom and common areas

Supervise students during school functions such as field trips and assemblies

Attend parent-teacher conferences, back-to-school nights, faculty meetings, and substitute in one class per week as needed

Support carpool and dismissal procedures as part of the team

Stay up-to-date on current educational trends and research to continually improve teaching practices

Qualifications

Dedication to creating a nurturing and challenging learning environment

Bachelor\'s degree in education or a related field; Master\'s degree preferred

A minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in a lower school setting

Valid teaching certification preferred

Strong knowledge of pedagogical practices and learning theories

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
