AMPI owns seven Midwest-based manufacturing plants where 10 percent of the nation's American-type cheese, processed cheese, and butter is produced. The cooperative's award-winning cheese, butter, and powdered dairy products are marketed to foodservice, retail, and food ingredient customers. In 2019, the co-op launched its Dinner Bell Creamery brand and the Co-op Crafted promise, highlighting over 50 years of dairy farm families partnering with skilled buttermakers and cheesemakers. This internship offers the opportunity to participate in a training program designed to prepare for a potential full-time role similar to the one described below. DoD SkillBridge participants are not eligible for compensation from AMPI, as they continue to receive military pay and benefits. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

This list is not exhaustive and may be expanded as needed: Report safety, food safety, and food quality issues to management. Support Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) initiatives by training staff and enforcing policies. Administer safety programs in compliance with OSHA regulations. Manage industrial hygiene programs, including medical testing and contaminant monitoring. Oversee waste inspections, labeling, and record-keeping for disposal. Document site EHS monitoring activities such as noise levels, exposure samples, etc. Implement drug and alcohol testing programs per federal and state laws. Conduct EHS compliance inspections and recommend corrective actions. Manage safety programs related to equipment operation and hazard communication. Promote safety awareness through communications and training. Collaborate with maintenance and quality assurance to ensure safety and food safety standards. Identify hazards and develop corrective measures through facility audits. Manage DOT driver records, drug screenings, and documentation. Analyze safety data to identify trends and improve programs. Oversee workers' compensation claims and investigations. Maintain OSHA and environmental reporting and documentation. Keep employee training records updated. Facilitate effective communication on safety matters across shifts and teams. Reasonable accommodations may be provided for individuals with disabilities.
