Qualifications and Experience: A high school diploma or equivalent. Two years of related work experience may be considered in lieu of the education requirement. One year of food service experience in general food preparation, proper food handling, food safety, and sanitation. Proficiency in cashiering and Microsoft Office. Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, and multiplication. Must attend the four-hour ASD Serving It Safe food safety course and pass the exam within 21 days of hire. Knowledge of pre-plate and centralized food preparation and delivery is preferred. Experience with food service POS and inventory systems is preferred. Previous experience as a food service manager is preferred.
Responsibilities include managing inventories, ordering, maintaining production records, cash handling, deposits, and paperwork submission to the Student Nutrition office. Ensuring timely lunch preparation, monitoring equipment temperatures per HACCP standards, maintaining sanitation, resolving complaints, ensuring compliance with USDA and state guidelines, and maintaining NSLP records are essential. The manager will organize work, make decisions independently in a fast-paced environment, and adhere to district policies. They will also assign tasks to staff and foster positive relationships with students, staff, and the community.
Physical and mental demands include frequent standing, walking, sitting, speaking, hearing, reaching, occasional lifting under 40 lbs, understanding instructions, recalling facts, managing conflict, and decision-making under pressure. Work is performed in a professional setting with exposure to outdoor weather and moderate noise. Reasonable accommodations will be provided as per law.
