Your responsibilities as a Lead Teacher KIPP NC teachers are central to our mission to develop students' knowledge, skills, and character strengths. Responsibilities include: Review and facilitate the KIPP NC scripted curriculum with fidelity and practice effective lesson delivery. Create assessments and hold students accountable through exemplar responses and documentation. Utilize assessment data to inform instruction and make necessary adjustments. Maintain accurate records and gradebooks. Help Build a Positive School and Classroom Culture Represent and uphold school values, policies, and culture. Develop positive relationships with students, families, and staff through communication and participation in school events. Participate in daily school functions including arrival, lunch, recess, and dismissal. Demonstrate a Growth Mindset Collaborate with coaches for professional development. Actively seek and incorporate feedback. Attend professional development sessions and practice clinics. Required Qualifications Deep commitment to KIPP NC’s mission and belief in student potential. Valid North Carolina teaching license or willingness to pursue certification. Bachelor’s degree in English, Secondary Education, or related field. Ability to pass a criminal background check. Preferred Qualifications At least 2 years of high school English teaching experience. Experience in high-performing charter schools or with marginalized student populations. Success in raising achievement levels of underserved students. Passing Praxis exams by September 2025. Fluency in Spanish is a plus. Additional Information Hours: M, Th, F 7:30am - 3:30pm; Tu & W 7:30am - 5:00pm. Curriculum, materials, and resources are provided. Monthly teacher work days include PD and data analysis.
