At Applied Maintenance Supplies and Solutions (MSS), a division of Applied Industrial, the Account Manager/Outside Sales role has an immediate impact on our customers, our company performance, and your personal earnings. This is a fantastic opportunity for a strong outside sales representative who thrives in consultative sales and has some knowledge of industrial products. Responsibilities:

Reporting directly to the District Sales Manager, you will: Build a territory and grow earnings by developing repeat business relationships in existing accounts and opening new business. Use our handheld technology to manage customer inventory and sell new products. Call on engineers, maintenance, purchasing, and others using a consultative selling approach to understand your customers' applications and needs. Additional responsibilities include: Maintaining current customers while prospecting new opportunities. Preparing quotations and proposals, following up, negotiating terms, and closing transactions. Conducting product demonstration sessions for customers and surveying market and competitive conditions. Completing reports on itineraries, expenses, sales calls, leads, and other related activities. At least 1 year of B2B sales experience, route sales, or developing new business and managing a territory. Industrial/MRO experience is a plus. Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record. Basic computer skills; SAP experience is a plus. High school diploma or equivalent. Preferred Skills:

Hands-on product demonstration skills and mechanical aptitude. Self-motivated and proactive attitude. Strong relationship-building skills at all organizational levels.
