Responsibilities Working with minimal supervision, the Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in all facets of store operations. Develops and promotes a sales culture by creating individualized and complete solutions for every guest and providing outstanding guest service experiences. Ensure products are easy to see and buy, build sales by sharing product and gaming knowledge with guests, provide a clean, organized environment, and grow guest loyalty and repeat business. Supervise Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager. Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests, respond to questions/concerns, inform guests of promotions, recommend items, and circulate throughout the store to prioritize guests over tasks. Promote GameStop\'s guest benefits (new title reservations, trade-in program, Pro Rewards loyalty). Assist with setting guest service expectations and train store associates on policies, procedures, practices, and guidelines. Monitor performance and provide feedback to align with company expectations; document feedback in the HR system in partnership with the Store Manager. Ensure onboarding, training, and compliance training are completed prior to shifts; oversee knowledge of store policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, and ethics. Schedule associates to follow guidelines, manage breaks/meals, and maintain optimum service levels. Approve payroll and manage time off requests; verify accurate pay. Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising per guidelines; ensure fixtures and equipment are in working order. Fulfill Omni-Channel orders daily and assist in inventory control and loss prevention. Support sales, profit, and shrink goals; complete required administrative and operational duties. Conduct stock counts, restock merchandise, and ensure products are represented and organized on the sales floor. Count, balance, and reconcile daily transactions; manage cash and deposits according to guidelines. Verify shipments, record discrepancies, and conduct inventories; communicate issues to management. Process defects/recalls and stock pulls; label shipments with packing lists. Maintain safety awareness; report injuries per guidelines. Maintain store records and ensure manuals are up to date. Supervise and delegate tasks to staff in the absence of the Store Manager. Adhere to all policies, including the Associate Handbook and Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct. Adhere to opening/closing procedures. Qualifications Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate\'s or bachelor\'s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred. At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred. At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred. Video game knowledge preferred. Key Job Skills and Abilities Outgoing, welcoming personality with strong people skills. Provide genuine and individualized assistance to every guest. Clear verbal and written communication; English proficiency; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and both independently and in a team. Meet performance expectations, including attendance and safety. Operate POS system and perform basic mathematics; complete required paperwork properly. Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and some holidays; minimum of 3 days/week availability. Remain reliable, trustworthy, and able to work under pressure; capable of standing for extended periods and lifting up to 30 lbs. Job descriptions are subject to change.
