Provide best-in-class guest service: promptly greet guests; respond to questions/concerns quickly, effectively, and courteously; assist guests with video gaming needs; inform guests of promotions; recommend additional items; apply selling behaviors during every transaction; circulate throughout the store to prioritize guests over tasks. Support the shopping environment, visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business. Process guest purchases/returns accurately using the POS system, including making correct changes, bagging merchandise, providing receipts, and maintaining high guest service standards. Respond to guest comments/questions in person or by phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager when appropriate. Promote GameStop guest benefits (e.g., new title reservations, trade-in program, Pro Rewards loyalty). Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates in company policies and guidelines. Observe associate performance, provide feedback, and address performance issues as directed to align with guest service expectations. Provide recognition and feedback to store associates; document feedback in the HR system in partnership with the Store Manager. Ensure onboarding and compliance training for associates prior to opening/closing shifts; ensure knowledge of policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, and ethics. Schedule store associates, manage breaks/meals, and maintain staffing for optimum guest service. Approve payroll, manage time off, and verify pay for time worked. Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising per company guidelines; ensure equipment is in working order. Fulfill Omni-Channel orders daily. Protect company assets through inventory control and loss prevention; inspect packages at closing as needed; report concerns to the Store Manager. Support the team in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete required administrative duties. Perform inventory counts, restock merchandise, and ensure products are organized and represented on the sales floor. Balance and reconcile daily POS totals; complete closeout paperwork and bank deposits per guidelines. Verify shipments, record discrepancies, and conduct inventories as needed; communicate issues to leadership. Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls accurately; label boxes with packing lists. Maintain guest and associate safety; address hazards and report injuries per guidelines. Maintain store records/files neatly; keep manuals up to date. Supervise and delegate tasks to sales associates/retail keyholders in absence of the Store Manager. Adhere to all company policies and the Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct; follow opening/closing procedures. Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred. At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred. At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred. Video game knowledge preferred. Outgoing, welcoming personality with strong people skills. Provide genuine and individualized assistance to every guest. Clear verbal and written communication and listening skills; English proficiency; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and both independently and in a team. Meet performance expectations (attendance, appearance, safety, respectful workplace). Operate POS system; basic mathematics and alphabetizing skills. Complete required paperwork properly; follow written or verbal instructions. Flexible schedule, including extended hours, nights, weekends, and some holidays (minimum 3 days/week). Handle pressure, be creative, and solve problems; reliable and trustworthy with good judgment. Able to work alone; stand/move for extended periods; lift up to 30 lbs and use ladders as needed. Onsite roles on military bases may require understanding of military ranks and insignia.
