Working with minimal supervision, the Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in all facets of store operations. The role develops and promotes a sales culture by creating individualized and complete solutions for every guest and providing outstanding guest service experiences. The position supervises Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager. Responsibilities

Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests, respond to questions/concerns quickly and courteously, assist with video gaming needs, inform guests of promotions, recommend items, and circulate throughout the store to prioritize guests over tasks. Support the shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business. Process guest purchases/returns using the POS system accurately and efficiently. Respond to guest questions in person or by phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager when appropriate. Promote GameStop’s guest benefits, such as the new title reservations program, trade-in program, and Pro Rewards loyalty program. Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates on policies, procedures, and guidelines. Monitor associate performance, provide feedback, and address unsatisfactory performance as directed. Provide recognition and feedback to store associates; document performance feedback in the HR system. Ensure onboarding, training, and compliance training are completed prior to shifts; knowledge of policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, financial protocol, and ethical responsibilities. Schedule store associates to meet guidelines and ensure adequate coverage; supervise staffing to maintain high guest service levels. Approve payroll, manage paid time off, and verify time worked. Maintain store cleanliness and organization; ensure fixtures and equipment are in working order. Fulfill Omni-Channel orders and ensure timely shipping. Protect company assets through inventory control and loss prevention; inspect packages at closing if applicable; report concerns to the Store Manager. Assist in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete required administrative duties. Perform inventory counts, restock merchandise, and ensure products are represented and organized on the floor. Reconcile daily transaction totals and manage cash/ deposits per guidelines. Verify shipments for discrepancies; conduct inventories and communicate issues to management. Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls accurately with proper labeling. Maintain associate and guest safety; report injuries per guidelines. Maintain store records/files and ensure manuals are up to date. Supervise and delegate tasks in the absence of the Store Manager. Adhere to all company policies and opening/closing procedures. Qualifications

Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred. Retail management experience preferred (minimum 6 months); retail sales/guest service/management experience preferred (2+ years). Video game knowledge preferred. Key Skills and Abilities

Outgoing and welcoming personality with strong people skills. Provide genuine, individualized guest assistance. Clear verbal and written communication; English proficiency; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks. Work independently and as part of a team; meet performance expectations (attendance, appearance, safety, respectful workplace). Operate POS system; basic math and alphabetizing skills. Complete required paperwork properly and follow written or verbal instructions. Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and some holidays (minimum 3 days/week). Ability to work alone; stand/move for extended periods; lift up to 30 lbs. Understanding of military ranks/insignia where applicable (store on military bases).
