Responsibilities
Provide best-in-class guest service: promptly greet guests; respond to guest questions/concerns quickly, effectively, and courteously; assist guests with meeting their video gaming needs; inform guests of special promotions; recommend additional items as appropriate; apply all selling behaviors during every transaction and thank every guest for shopping at GameStop; prioritize guests over tasks and demonstrate that commitment by circulating throughout the store.
Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and the guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.
Promptly and accurately process guest purchases/returns using the POS system, including making correct changes, placing merchandise in a bag, providing a receipt, and ensuring top-notch guest service.
Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; answer calls promptly, courteously, and professionally; escalate customer issues and complaints to the Store Manager when appropriate.
Promote GameStop’s guest benefits, including the new title reservations program, trade-in program, and Pro Rewards guest loyalty program.
Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations for store associates and training store associates in all aspects of their job responsibilities, policies, procedures, practices, and guidelines.
Observe associate performance, provide timely feedback, and address unsatisfactory performance as directed; ensure all store associates are aligned with company and store guest service expectations.
Provide recognition and feedback to store associates; regularly document performance feedback in Workday or HR systems in partnership with the Store Manager.
Ensure onboarding, job training, and compliance training for all associates prior to opening or closing shifts; ensure associates know all policies, inventory control, loss prevention practices, safety, and ethical responsibilities.
Schedule store associates following guidelines, manage breaks and meals, and supervise staffing to maintain exceptional guest service.
Approve payroll, process paid time off, and verify pay for all time worked.
Keep store areas clean, organized, and merchandised per company guidelines; ensure fixtures and equipment are in proper working order.
Ensure Omni-Channel orders are fulfilled and shipped daily.
Protect company assets through inventory control and loss prevention practices; conduct security checks at closing; report concerns to the Store Manager.
Support the store team in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals; complete required administrative tasks.
Perform inventory counts, restock merchandise, and organize products on shelves to maintain accurate representation in the sales floor.
Balance daily cash and reconcile POS totals; ensure closeout paperwork and bank deposits are completed accurately.
Verify shipments for discrepancies, record differences, and communicate issues to the Store Manager or District Manager.
Process defectives and recalls; ensure proper labeling and packing lists.
Maintain guest and associate safety; report injuries promptly.
Maintain store records and ensure manuals are up to date.
Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager.
Adhere to GameStop policies and procedures and conduct standards.
Follow opening and closing procedures.
Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States.
Must be at least 18 years old.
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or a related field preferred.
At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred.
At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred.
Video game knowledge preferred.

Able to work alone and stay alert for up to 12 hours; stand and move around the store.
Physical capability to perform duties, including lifting up to 30 lbs and other physical activities.
