Position overview for the Assistant Nurse Manager role in the Perioperative unit at University Hospital.
Responsibilities The Assistant Nurse Manager supports the Nurse Manager in planning, directing, and evaluating the activities of the unit staff. In the absence of the Nurse Manager, the Assistant Nurse Manager assumes full responsibility on a twenty-four hour basis. The role collaborates with the Perioperative Director, Support Service Managers, Nurse Managers, Charge Nurses, and Information Associate to evaluate patient care flow in perioperative areas, identify areas needing improvement, troubleshoot, and implement changes. The Assistant Nurse Manager collaborates with the Perioperative Nurse Educator to coordinate staff orientation and education.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing.
License to practice professional nursing in the state of Ohio.
Experience in an acute care setting required.
