Science | Service | Sustainability Under limited supervision, the Environmental Health Manager II in the Division of Onsite Wastewater will assist in providing administrative support and technical assistance to onsite staff throughout the state with a focus on central office activities; assists in development and coordination of training for onsite wastewater staff; assists central office staff in problem‑solving matters related to onsite wastewater systems. Job Responsibilities

Provides technical assistance and support to the onsite wastewater (OSWW) program throughout the state, to include supporting the licensing of OSWW contractors by serving as an assistant to the licensing coordinator for newly issued licensees, licensing renewals, testing and management of pumper vehicle inspections, coordination with Finance, and conducting weekly payment reports. Permits suitable sites according to state regulations and policies. Assist with other programmatic needs and projects as required such as providing direct administrative and programmatic support to the Division Director, communicating updates to OSWW staff and contractors through ReadyOp messaging system, and development of training materials, fact sheets, guides, and other tools and SOPs for OSWW staff across the state. Provides assistance to the Compliance Specialist to ensure enforcement section is implemented consistently with regulation and programmatic standards. Education and Experience

A master's degree in the natural or physical sciences or related technical field. OR a bachelor's degree in the natural or physical sciences or related technical field and at least one year of environmental health or related experience. OR an associate degree in the natural or physical sciences or related technical field and at least three years of environmental health or related experience. OR high school diploma and at least five years of environmental health or related experience. Degrees in a related technical field include, but are not limited to, Earth sciences, chemistry, biology, physics, soil science, environmental science, etc. Additional Requirements

Able to provide outstanding customer service in a fast‑paced environment. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Work effectively in a team‑oriented environment and encourage positive working relationships with coworkers, industry, and government officials. Work independently in a field environment. Ability to successfully complete prescribed technical coursework and pass any test relevant to the position within the probationary period. Work in all reasonable weather conditions and access non‑traditional work environments. A valid SC driver's license is required. May require: Daily travel throughout the state; Occasional overnight travel; Participation on the Environmental Response Team and is subject to on call or call back 24/7. Familiarity and Technical Skills

Familiarity with onsite wastewater methods and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Training or experience in describing or classifying soils. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Equal Employment Opportunity
