Overview

IT Quality Assurance (QA) Senior Manager role at BDO USA. The IT Quality Assurance (QA) Senior Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of quality assurance strategies across IT projects and operations. This role leads QA teams in developing and implementing testing standards, processes, and best practices to ensure the delivery of reliable, secure, and high-performing technology solutions. The Senior Manager collaborates with business and technical stakeholders to align QA activities with organizational goals, manages resource allocation, and drives continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership abilities, deep expertise in software testing methodologies, and a proven track record of enhancing quality in dynamic IT environments.

Job Duties

Develops, implements, and maintains QA strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure the delivery of high-quality IT solutions

Creates and executes comprehensive roadmaps that clearly define pathways to quality solutions

Oversees the planning, design, and execution of test plans, test cases, and test scripts for software applications and IT systems

Collaborates with business analysts, developers, project managers, and other stakeholders to define quality requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives

Ensures compliance with regulatory standards, industry best practices, and organizational policies

Evaluates and implements new testing tools, technologies, and automation frameworks to enhance QA efficiency and effectiveness

Drives root cause analysis and corrective actions for defects and quality issues

Coordinates user acceptance testing (UAT) and support production releases to ensure successful deployments

Communicates QA status, risks, and issues to senior leadership and project stakeholders

Stays current with emerging trends in quality assurance, software testing, and IT governance

Other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities

Leads, mentors, and manages QA teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development

Manages professional development of experienced QA leads

Reviews time entry for accuracy and reporting

Leads performance evaluations of direct reports

Education, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

High School Diploma/GED and eight (8) or more years of experience with IT Quality Assurance, required; OR

Bachelor’s degree and six (6) or more years of experience with IT Quality Assurance, required

Experience

Seven (7) or more years of experience in Quality Assurance for IT or professional services organizations, required

Five (5) or more years of experience in managing QA, UAT teams within IT or professional services organizations, required

Three (3) or more years of experience identifying risks within projects, generating solutions and recommendations, required

Three (3) or more years of experience managing budgets, timelines and project deliverables, required

Strong experience with writing test plans and executing automated testing to include functional, smoke, regression, load, negative and mobile strategies, required

Experience with leading combination of onshore and offshore teams, preferred

Software

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; specifically, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook, required

Enterprise Tester, required

JIRA, DevOps, Smartsheet, or any other project mapping tool, preferred

Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Ability to manage teams and projects within a software solutions environment

Adaptable to fast-paced changing industry practices

Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, along with strong facilitation and collaboration skills

Excels at operating in a fast-paced technical environment

Ability to solve problems, identify solutions, and appropriately escalate issues

Must be open to local travel to the client site as needed

Experience with Agile, DevOps methodologies, preferred

Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.

National Range: $155,000 - $185,000

Maryland Range: $155,000 - $185,000

NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $155,000 - $185,000
