Financial Analyst II – Hybrid Role Alliant Energy is hiring a Financial Analyst II for a hybrid role that blends financial expertise with clear, impactful communication. The role supports decision‑making through modeling, planning, and analysis, translating complex financial data into actionable insights for stakeholders.

Job Summary Financial Analyst II performs moderately complex financial and economic analysis and modeling. The position develops and prepares financial plans, budgets, rate review filing documents, and business planning and support analyses, working strategically with customers to achieve business goals.

What You Will Do

Participate in developing, maintaining, and modifying financial models, plans, and budgets to support strategic decision‑making.

Participate in analysis of intermediate level financial data/trends, including comparing forecast to actual results.

Assist with core accounting functions such as reconciliations, journal entries and variance analysis to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Effectively communicate – verbally and in writing – intermediate level financial information to internal and external stakeholders in a concise and simplified manner.

Participate in business planning and support analysis, including economic scenario analysis, performance benchmarking, opportunity and risk assessment, and research projects with direction from a senior or lead.

Proactively work with customers to provide intermediate level strategic consulting to help achieve business goals.

Seek opportunities for different and innovative approaches to address issues or problems.

May be involved in or responsible for assisting in developing rate review filing documents.

Engage in other duties as needed that support Alliant Energy’s values and help deliver on our purpose to serve customers and build stronger communities.

Education Requirements

Emphasis in Accounting, Economics, Finance, or related field. Preferred.

Required Experience

3 years of technical and/or professional experience.

MBA or professional certifications may be considered for a portion of professional work experience.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Basic knowledge of financial modeling, financial planning, and accounting principles.

Experience with reconciliations, journal entries and variance analysis.

Proficiency in financial software applications and general computer tools (e‑mail, word processing, spreadsheet, and project management).

Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and inclusive work environment.

Benefits and Pay Range Alliant Energy offers a comprehensive total rewards package including competitive compensation and benefit programs. Pay Range: $70,000–$82,000. The position is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program.
