Instructor, Professional Certificate Programs – EKG Technician – Part‑Time – CPE Location: Kennesaw, Georgia Key Responsibilities
Provides quality and technically relevant instruction in EKG procedures to help prepare students for the NHA Certified EKG Technician (CET) exam Defines structure of the cardiovascular system and related medical terms and abbreviations Explains basic EKG tracing, rate, rhythm, and abnormalities and administers electrocardiograms Teaches students learning strategies and uses educational equipment, manipulatives, props, and other learning aids Provides continual feedback and various methods of assessment measurement by ensuring student mastery of the program’s learning outcomes Assesses and records grading for all homework assignments, quizzes, and tests Completes paperwork associated with classroom and project management Participates in marketing of courses to prospective students by providing technical information during biannual Open House events Assists with course and/or program evaluation and continuous improvement and resolves quiz disputes when necessary Maintains acceptable program quality and satisfaction scores Keeps Program Manager informed of any curriculum or student code of conduct issues Records attendance in the learning management system Required Qualifications
Registered Nurse
within the state of Georgia from an accredited institution of higher education, or
Licensed Practical Nurse
within the state of Georgia from an accredited institution of higher education, or
CMA, RMA, or CCMA credentialed medical assistant , or
Certified EKG Technician Current, valid and unrestricted Georgia Nurse (RN, LPN) licensure or CMA, RMA, or CCMA credentialed medical assistant or Certified EKG Technician Fine (5) years of experience in a medical setting as an RN, LPN, credentialed medical assistant, or EKG technician Preferred Qualifications
Previous teaching experience Abilities & Knowledge
Knowledge of emergency procedures posted in the classroom Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite) Strong attention to detail and follow‑up skills Strong customer service skills and phone and e‑mail etiquette Equal Employment Opportunity Statement
