JOB STATUS:
Head Start is hiring a full-time Family Service Advocate. LOCATION:
Austin, MN MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Successful completion of the Family Services Credential within 18 months of employment at Semcac Head Start. Training provided by Head Start. CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain. What You’ll Do: Build relationships with families and help them set and reach individualized goals Connect families to community resources, supports, and opportunities Partner with classroom staff to ensure each child’s needs are supported holistically—socially, emotionally, and developmentally Maintain accurate documentation and support compliance with federal Head Start performance standards Be a cheerleader, navigator, and compassionate ear for families navigating life’s ups and downs What We’re Looking For: A heart for advocacy and a head for organization Strong interpersonal and communication skills Experience in human services, social work, or early childhood settings preferred Ability to build trust with diverse families and honor their strengths and cultures Knowledge of local community resources is a big plus!
