Overview

Prepare and review financial statements in compliance with GAAP/GASB standards. Assist with audits and ensure compliance with reporting requirements (CAFR/ACFR). Responsibilities

Reconcile bank accounts and prepare journal entries and month-end reports. Support annual budget development and long-range financial forecasting. Monitor expenditures, prepare variance reports, and maintain internal controls. Serve as backup for accounts payable and payroll. Prepare tax and contractor reports, and reconcile property tax collections. Undertake special financial projects as assigned. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field preferred. At least 3 years of experience in financial analysis or a comparable role. Strong understanding of governmental accounting, fund accounting, and auditing standards. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills. Valid North Carolina driver’s license (or ability to obtain within 60 days). Will travel to Saluda, NC 3 times a week.
