Junior Network Administrator (P1)
to ensure the smooth operation of classified network infrastructure at our Raytheon/RTX locations. The installation, maintenance, support, and monitoring of the network infrastructure will be performed. Candidate must have a solid background supporting networks and an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance to be considered. This role is onsite in Tucson, AZ and works mostly in classified computing areas.
What you will Do
Maintain smooth operation of voice and data networks. Plans, evaluates, coordinates, and performs installation and/or reconfiguration of hardware and software elements of data and/or voice communication network.
Develop technical expertise in all areas of voice and data networks hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as switches, routers, firewalls, authentication servers, encryptors, etc.
Work with network management software platforms.
Propose solutions to management to ensure all communications requirements based on future needs and current usage, configuring such solutions to optimize cost savings aligning with future requirements factoring in redundancy and required network uptime.
Prepare or ensure that appropriate network documentation exists, including operational instructions, technical diagrams, and other documentation. Where no documentation exists, assist in developing documentation.
Provide regular monitoring and network analysis regarding short- and long-range planning for in-house systems.
Assist with coordination of third-party maintenance for network equipment or with vendors for third-party support.
Willingness and availability to work outside normal business hours (evenings and weekends) as needed.
Must be able to work with general supervision and follow established procedures.
Obtain Certifications in Security+ within 6 months and Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) within a year. Raytheon will provide training to achieve this.

Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a university/bachelor’s degree with less than 2 years of relevant experience, or in lieu of degree, will consider a minimum 4 years of relevant Network or IT Systems Administration experience.
Experience with networking equipment such as Cisco (or other product) routers, switches, firewalls, and/or intrusion detection systems, including software upgrades.
Active and transferable U.S. government‑issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required for security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
Cisco ISE experience with 802.1X, SolarWinds, and setting up client server environments for government networks.
Security+ and/or CCNA certifications currently active.
Experience with current cabling and fiber standards.
Experience with access control list, security posture, and vendor best practices.
Experience with Visio diagramming and design capabilities.
1–2 years of experience with network management software.
Willingness and availability to travel domestically as needed.
Knowledge of configuration and troubleshooting of encryption devices.
Effective customer service skills, including oral and written communications.
Experience with platforms such as IP telephony, NTP servers, GemOne, and SolarWinds.
Ability to work under time constraints.
Experience with classified computing, STIG compliance, and network refreshes.
Current DoD Top Secret level security clearance.

Benefits and Compensation Salary range:
$55,000 – $107,000 . Bonuses and incentive compensation are available. RTX anticipates the application window closing approximately 40 days from the posting date.
