Job Description
Lead the Accounts Receivable hotline team for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), and Medicaid overpayment hotline. Manage workflow, verify accuracy, provide training, and serve as primary contact for overpayment claim issues.
Essential Job Functions
Maintain, revise, and publish agency policies and procedures for the AR Customer Service area. Assist the manager in planning, directing, and coordinating daily operations for the hotline and research division. Provide training, coaching, and performance feedback to help staff reach goals. Assist in reviewing applications for potential new hires and participate in the interview process. Assign staff workflow and verify checks and balances to avoid audit findings. Serve as primary AR contact for client and provider overpayment claims with legal and program divisions. Manage the ARTS Project mailbox for changes and corrections to overpayment claims. Conduct special projects and support AR management as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of agency organizational structure, fiscal programs, and financial operations regulations. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and automated accounting systems. Skill in using Microsoft Excel, Teams, Word, Access, and PeopleSoft. Ability to work independently with limited supervision. Effective verbal and written communication with clients, providers, and agency staff. Plan, manage accounting and project workflows, prioritize assignments, and meet deadlines.
Initial Screening Criteria
Five years of progressively responsible experience in customer service, accounting, finance, auditing, or budgeting. Experience identifying and developing process improvements. Experience with automated accounting or customer database systems. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams). Graduation from an accredited four‑year college or university, majoring in accounting, finance, or related field (preferred). Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred).
