Overview
Under the management of the Associate Director of Paralegals and practice group attorneys, the Paralegal applies knowledge of law and legal procedures to assist clients in multiple functions. This position will assist attorneys in all aspects of litigation practice including preparation of pleadings, assistance with discovery, document review and organization, and preparation and attendance at hearings and trials.
Base pay range $100,000.00/yr - $140,000.00/yr
Responsibilities
Support drafting pleadings, motions and appellate pleadings
Manage complex document management using firm software; assist with electronic document production
Assist with trial preparation and attendance including witness preparation, exhibit lists, trial logistics and management of required vendors
Ability to use Lexis, Westlaw, PACER, and other online sources
Proficiency regarding cite checking and factual research
Manage discovery requests including subpoenas, request for production, etc.
Act as liaison between clients, colleagues and experts and related parties
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Ability to apply problem solving skills and the ability to work under minimal supervision
Ability to deal professionally with all levels of clients both internally and externally
Exceptional organizational and investigative skills including ability to prioritize deadlines
Experience with all aspects of litigation
Excellent communication skills
Experience with Trial Director, and other online e-discovery tools
Ability to work overtime with little notice
Ability to work off-site at client location(s), various firm offices, and/or trial venues for extended periods of time
Requires the ability to regularly report to work on the days and times scheduled
