Schedule/Shift/Hours Full Time - Variable

Position Summary Supervises the security department including parking, reception, patient, visitor control and departmental customer service practices. Identifies and addresses through policy, procedure and practice issues that affect organizational safety, security and general liability.

Responsibilities

Acts as a liaison between security, hospital personnel and outside agencies

Follows up on staff shift inspection rounds of the facility ensuring safety, security and environmental conditions identified as hazards or regulatory violations to ensure prompt correction

Performs a variety of tasks

Leads and directs the work of others

A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected

Performs other related duties as assigned

Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field

Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals

Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function

Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned

Requirements and Minimum Qualifications

Associate’s degree in Criminal Justice or a related field required; 2 years related experience may be accepted in lieu of an Associate’s degree

Continuing education and certification following hire strongly encouraged

Minimum 3 years’ security, military or police experience required in addition to education requirement

Minimum 3 years’ supervisory experience required

Must maintain current certification for MOAB, handcuff and baton training

Possession of a valid motor vehicle license and willingness to operate motor vehicles in the course of employment

BLS required

Working Conditions

Must be able to lift or move up to 50 lbs

Must be able to maintain a standing position

Typical equipment used in a clinical and office job

Must be able to stoop, crouch, or bend
