This role comes with a $5,000 signing bonus. This is a pending placement role. A campus, grade level, and specific ELA content placement will be assigned upon hire; placement could be at either of our middle school campuses. About the KIPP Colorado Teacher Role
The Teacher is the instructional leader of their classroom and is directly responsible for driving student outcomes and creating an exceptional student experience. Teachers drive the educational mission of KIPP Colorado schools by developing rigorous, engaging, affirming, grade-level and culturally-sustaining instruction that prepares students for multiple post-secondary opportunities, and is aligned with our academic program. The Teacher plans instruction, organizes learning activities, internalizes and intellectually prepares for lessons, grades equitably and consistently, and implements with fidelity all accommodations and modifications for students’ IEPs, BIP’s, 504 Plans, ALPs, and MTSS interventions, supporting the individuality and multifaceted nature of all our students. The Teacher at KIPP Colorado holds full responsibility for creating and cultivating a culturally responsive classroom community that is warm-demanding, upholding school-wide expectations, managing tier 1 behaviors, and contacting families proactively and responsively. Teachers support the campus-wide community and whole school systems through active presence at daily duties, including but not limited to: arrival duty, dismissal duty, lunch duty, threshold presence at transitions, hallway/bathroom duty, and coverage for staff absences. The position is a 10-month academic position and is exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act. This position reports to a member of the school leadership team. About KIPP

Assume personal responsibility for student achievement. Read, internalize, and adhere to the KIPP Colorado Policies and Procedures manual and guidelines. Provide an active presence, strategic supervision, and intentional monitoring to ensure student safety and engagement in rigorous learning. Take ownership for the development of your craft and engage actively in coaching sessions (meet 1-2 times every 1 or 2 weeks with a manager, receive coaching, implement feedback, etc.). Commit to being prepared for lessons, coaching, meetings, PD, and communications. Meet professional obligations including deadlines and schedules. Utilize professional tools (Google Suite, Microsoft 365) effectively. Maintain strong attendance and punctuality. Collaborate with colleagues and seek feedback for continuous improvement. Reflect on professional practices and pursue development goals. Participate in professional development, grade level, and department meetings; engage in school-wide and org-wide PD. Serve as a positive member of a grade or functional team and contribute to organizational initiatives. Share candid, solutions-oriented feedback with peers and leadership. Assist with student and staff recruitment and engagement activities. Travel as needed to KIPP campuses, the Home Office, or PD events. Assist with other duties as assigned (lunch, arrivals, dismissals, etc.). Instructional Planning and Delivery Develop standards-based instructional plans (unit plans, scope and sequences, weekly plans, daily lesson plans). Plan rigorous lessons aligned to school-wide deadlines and internalization practices. Design and implement assessments aligned with objectives. Grade student work and provide feedback and support. Use high-quality instructional materials with fidelity; use data to inform reteach and reassessment. Use data to drive instruction and adjust plans to meet learning needs; provide feedback and monitor progress toward goals. Implement IEPs, 504 Plans, ALPs, BIPs, and MTSS interventions with fidelity, including accommodations and progress monitoring. School Culture Alignment Establish relationships with students and families based on trust and respect. Approach practice with urgency to maximize instructional time. Establish high expectations for academic work and behavior. Maintain rules and consequences to sustain a positive classroom environment. Additional Responsibilities Provide active presence and supervision to ensure safety and engagement. Complete specialized certification requirements (MLE coursework, CDE literacy modules, ECE licensure, ESSA status). Partner with Special Services to implement 504s, BIPs, IEPs, safety plans, accommodations, and language support. Enforce positive behavior systems and monitor data. Attend school functions outside of regular hours (Open Houses, conferences, events). Perform duties such as bus, lunch, and dismissal duties, chaperoning field trips, and parent meetings. About the skills and qualifications you will bring Bachelor's degree (required). Spanish bilingual (preferred). Ability and willingness to meet ESSA guidelines (required). At least 2 years of teaching experience (highly preferred but not required). Ability to participate in pre-planned events before/after school and on weekends (required). Understanding of KIPP and commitment to an exceptional student experience. Commitment to and experience with youth from diverse backgrounds. Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills. Ability to manage ambiguity and multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proactive problem solving, initiative, and teamwork. Strong work ethic and passion for the role. Multifaceted, resourceful, and willing to do whatever it takes to help the school excel.
