The Teacher is the instructional leader of their classroom and is directly responsible for driving student outcomes and creating an exceptional student experience. Teachers drive the educational mission of KIPP Colorado schools by developing rigorous, engaging, affirming, grade-level and culturally-sustaining instruction that prepares students for multiple post-secondary opportunities, and is aligned with our academic program. The Teacher plans instruction, organizes learning activities, internalizes and intellectually prepares for lessons, grades equitably and consistently, and implements with fidelity all accommodations and modifications for students’ IEPs, BIP’s, 504 Plans, ALPs, and MTSS interventions, supporting the individuality and multifaceted nature of all our students. The Teacher holds full responsibility for creating and cultivating a culturally responsive classroom community that is warm-demanding, upholding school-wide expectations, managing tier 1 behaviors, and contacting families proactively and responsively. The position is a 10-month academic position and is exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act. This position reports to a member of the school leadership team. Professional Responsibilities

Believe deeply in the mission, values, and Race, Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity (RIDE) commitments of KIPP Colorado Schools Assume personal responsibility for student achievement Read, internalize, and adhere to the KIPP Colorado Policies and Procedures manual and guidelines Provide an active presence, strategic supervision, and intentional monitoring to ensure student safety and engagement Take ownership for the development of your craft and engage actively in coaching sessions with a manager, receive coaching, implement feedback, and engage in practice Prepare for lessons, coaching, meetings, PD, reading and internalizing communications Meet professional obligations including deadlines and schedules Leverage professional tools such as Google Suite and Microsoft Suite Maintain strong attendance and punctuality Collaborate with colleagues and seek feedback for continuous improvement Reflect on practices to meet professional development goals Participate in professional development, grade level, and department meetings Engage in school-wide and org-wide professional development Contribute to grade teams or functional teams and share candid, solutions-oriented feedback Assist with recruitment and engagement activities (events, home visits, calls home, etc.) Travel as needed between campuses and PD events Assist with other duties as assigned (lunch, arrival/dismissal, hallway, etc.) Instructional Planning and Delivery

Develop standards-based instructional plans (unit plans, scope and sequences, weekly plans, daily lessons) Plan rigorous lessons aligned to deadlines and internalization practices Design and implement assessments aligned with daily objectives Grade student work and provide feedback and support Use adopted materials with fidelity and data to inform reteach and reassessment Use data to drive instruction and monitor progress toward goals Implement IEPs, 504 Plans, ALPs, BIPs and MTSS interventions with fidelity, including accommodations and progress monitoring School Culture Alignment

Establish and maintain relationships with students and families based on trust and respect Maximize instructional time with urgency Maintain high expectations for academics and classroom behavior Establish and reinforce rules and consequences to maintain a positive, focused classroom Additional Responsibilities

Provide active presence and supervision to ensure student safety and engagement Meet specialized certification requirements to maintain compliance (e.g., MLE coursework, CDE literacy modules, ECE licensure, ESSA qualified) Collaborate with Special Services to implement accommodations and supports for students Enforce positive behavior systems and monitor data Attend designated school events outside of hours Perform support duties and chaperone field trips; participate in parent meetings and evening events Build strong family relationships through home visits and communications Maintain records, grade books, and data tracking systems About a Successful Candidate

Skills and qualifications you will bring to this role: Bachelor’s degree (required) Spanish bilingual (preferred) Ability and willingness to meet ESSA criteria (required) At least 2 years of teaching experience (highly preferred but not required) Ability to participate in pre-planned events and activities (required) Understanding of KIPP and commitment to an exceptional student experience (required) Commitment to youth of diverse backgrounds Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage ambiguity and multiple priorities Proactive problem solver with initiative and teamwork Strong work ethic and enthusiastic approach Resourceful, willing to do what it takes to reach academic excellence Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills Strong communication, feedback, and facilitation skills Analytical and problem-solving abilities Professional demeanor and confidence; initiative Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to work in a fast-paced environment Ability to meet deadlines with attention to detail Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships across stakeholders Passionate commitment to KIPP Colorado mission and RIDE values Compensation And Benefits
