Guest Service Representative II (NGIS) Organization

U.S. Navy Exchange Service Command (NEXCOM) Overview

Serves as the first point of contact with guests at a Navy Gateway Inn and Suites and/or Navy Lodge property, handling all stages of guests' stay. Responsibilities

Provide welcoming manner, positive attitude, and professional communication with guests. Assist guests with reservations, room assignments, and cancellations via phone or in person. Process payments, present receipts, and verify credit card authorization. Guard the front desk and lobby for safety, security, and privacy. Maintain inventory of keys and supplies, and log key usage. Operate Property Management System (PMS) for reservation changes, cancellations, and guest information. Handle POS sales, convenience store transactions, and inventory. Record and resolve guest complaints, adjusting room fees and check‑in/check‑out as needed. Perform nightly audit, close bank report, and front‑desk reconciliations. Assist with breakfast bar set‑up, clean‑up, and guest food handling certifications. Travel to other lodging facilities using valid state driver's license. Work all shifts, including weekends, holidays, inclement weather, and emergencies. Complete all mandatory training and fill in schedule gaps due to call‑outs, no‑shows, vacations, etc. Adhere to Navy hospitality certification within 6 months of employment. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications

1 year of general office clerical experience or equivalent education. 1 year progressively responsible experience related to the position, or substitute education (half academic year of study for 6 months of experience). Valid state driver's license to travel to other lodging facilities. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays. Location

United States – Connecticut – Groton Schedule

Full‑time (35+ hours) with overnight shift regularly scheduled. Additional Information
