GUEST SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE II – NAVY GATEWAY INNS & SUITES SAN DIEGO – FULL TIME (35+ HOURS) Application for the GUEST SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE II role at NAVY EXCHANGE SERVICE COMMAND (NEXCOM).

Job Summary Serves as first point of contact with guests at a Navy Gateway Inn and Suites and/or Navy Lodge property; handles all stages of guests’ stay, accommodates special requests as needed and resolves issues that may arise. Responsible for front desk operations, lobby appearance, guest service–related office operations and the safety, security and privacy of all guests.

Duties and Responsibilities

Possess a welcoming manner and positive attitude; demonstrate effective communication skills; interact professionally with guests.

Assist guests with requests in person or via telephone, including but not limited to managing room reservations, collecting payments and processing check‑in/check‑out.

Greet and welcome guests upon arrival; maintain outstanding guest relations.

Complete mandatory training for overnight shifts; fill schedule gaps due to call‑outs, no‑shows, vacations.

Reconcile shift transactions, ensuring complete balancing while maintaining guest service.

Communicate with all lodging associates and chain of command concerning operations, guest issues or situations that require immediate attention.

Apply knowledge of standard operating procedures, processes and rules governing patron eligibility.

Operate and maintain property management system (PMS) and POS; retrieve and update reservations; provide reports.

Handle key inventory, lost/found items and maintain security at the front desk.

Maintain lobby cleanliness, observe safety and manage professional presentation.

Support breakfast bar setup, service and break‑down operations.

Work all shifts, including weekends and holidays; accommodate emergencies as required.

Qualifications

One (1) year of general office clerical experience.

One (1) year of progressively responsible experience related to the position.

Alternatively, study completed in a college or university above high school level may substitute up to six months of experience.

Valid state driver’s license for travel to other lodging facilities if required.

Ready to obtain necessary NEXCOM Hospitality Group certification within six months of employment.

General Experience and Education One year of general office clerical experience; one year of progressively responsible experience related to the position. Education can substitute experience if completed at a higher education institution.
