Position Information Role Title: Housekeeping and Apparel Worker II | Position Number: 00304 | FLSA: Non‑Exempt | Appointment Type: Full Time | Type of Posting: General Public | Designated Personnel: Yes | Is Sensitive Position: No | Restricted Position Subject to Availability of Funding: Yes
Purpose of the Position This position will ensure the cleanliness of assigned areas by performing various housekeeping tasks. It will also oversee the work of assigned housekeeping workers.
Responsibilities
Perform cleaning tasks using housekeeping equipment such as vacuum cleaners, buffers, and scrubbing machines.
Direct and monitor work assignments for other housekeeping workers.
Comply with health and safety policies and report incidents of misconduct.
Work a flexible schedule and be on‑call on a rotational basis.
Qualifications
High school graduate or equivalent education/experience that equates to a high school diploma.
Valid driver’s license.
Experience overseeing the work of others.
Experience with cleaning methods and cleaning supplies.
Experience using a vacuum cleaner, buffer, and scrubbing machine.
Prior hotel, higher education, or similar housekeeping experience is a plus.
Conditions of Employment
This is a classified position. New and returning classified employees are required to complete a 12‑month probationary period.
Selected candidate must attend a 2‑day New Employee Orientation Program.
Ability to work a flexible schedule and be on‑call on a rotational basis.
