Minimum Experience/Education

Faculty teaching undergraduate courses: doctorate or master’s degree in the teaching discipline or master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline.

Faculty teaching graduate courses: earned doctorate / terminal degree in the teaching discipline or a related discipline. UNC Charlotte gives primary consideration to the highest earned degree in the discipline.

Additional considerations include competence, effectiveness, and capacity, including related work experiences, professional licensure, honors, awards, and demonstrated teaching excellence.

Responsibilities UNC Charlotte is accepting applications for adjunct or part-time faculty. Responsibilities may include:

Developing and updating course syllabus

Preparing lectures, projects, or student assignments

Meeting scheduled class periods

Maintaining office hours

Grading assignments and exams promptly

Submitting progress reports and final grades as per university regulations
