Job Summary The Infant Toddler Teacher will provide planned opportunities for children in activities designed to promote social, physical, and cognitive growth and development. Responsible for planning individual and group activities that enhance each child's strengths based on ongoing assessments and observations. Incorporates parents’ goals for their children into daily activities. Qualifications Must have a California Childrens Center Permit or a California Child Development Associate Teacher Permit from the Commission on Teacher Credentialing. If you do not currently have an AA, will be placed on a professional staff development plan and required to complete courses toward a degree. 6 Infant/Toddler units are highly preferred. If not currently obtained, must be completed within 1 year of employment. A minimum of two (2) years paid experience working with children aged 0-5. Experience with infants and toddlers is highly desirable. Ability to communicate verbally effectively with parents, children, families, and colleagues. Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to interact professionally and confidentially at all levels. Ability to maintain a positive work environment and relationships. Ability to incorporate parental input into developmental goals. Ability to relate to diverse groups, including low-income families. Sensitivity to the needs of others. Maintain confidentiality. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Special Qualifications Must submit to a pre-employment physical, drug screening, and TB clearance. Must provide vaccination records for Pertussis (Tdap), Measles (MMR), and Influenza (optional). Fingerprinting and background checks through DOJ and FBI are required. Must possess a valid California Driver’s License, own a vehicle, and have general liability auto insurance. Hold current First Aid and CPR certificates.
