Job Type Faculty – Full-time
Summary The Department of Literature and Languages is seeking faculty for a full‑time Lecturer position in English composition. This non‑tenure‑track position will begin in Fall 2025. The selected candidate will teach five courses, chiefly in lower‑level composition, each semester. The ideal candidate will practice an innovative and student‑centered writing pedagogy. Candidates should have experience teaching developmental and other writing courses at post‑secondary institutions, including experience teaching in face‑to‑face, hybrid/blended, and online modalities; working with multilingual learners.
Duties & Responsibilities
Teach undergraduate‑level English composition courses.
Work closely with program and departmental administration.
Advise students and prepare syllabi.
Update course materials and deliver instruction both online and on any university campuses.
Participate in curriculum development, assessment, and departmental service.
Collaborate with faculty and staff to implement departmental programs.
Maintain knowledge and stay abreast of current trends in learning, research, best practices in teaching, and technological applications in the classroom.
Minimum Requirements
Education: Master’s degree in Rhetoric and Composition, Writing Studies, English, or a closely‑related field.
Experience: Demonstrated successful teaching in lower‑level and upper‑level English composition courses at the college level.
Skills: Ability to multi‑task and work well as part of a team.
Preferred Education / Skills / Experience PhD in Rhetoric and Composition, Writing Studies, English, or a closely‑related field.
