Position:

Administrative Assistant to Senior Director of Engineering

Pay Range:

$25.00 – $27.00 per hour

Temp-to-hire

Summary:

The Administrative Assistant will provide high-level administrative support to the Senior Director of Engineering, ensuring efficient day-to-day operations and enabling leadership to focus on strategic initiatives. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, technical environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and coordinate the Director’s calendar, meetings, travel arrangements, and conference calls.

Prepare and edit correspondence, reports, presentations, and other professional documents.

Serve as the liaison between the Director and internal/external stakeholders.

Track action items and follow up on project deliverables across engineering teams.

Organize and maintain confidential files and department records.

Support onboarding of new engineering team members and coordinate departmental logistics.

Assist with planning and executing team events, offsites, and technical reviews.

Monitor and manage departmental budgets, purchase orders, and expense reports.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as an administrative assistant, ideally supporting senior leaders within engineering or technical departments.

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace (Drive, Sheets, Slides, Forms).

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.

Strong organizational and time management abilities.

Familiarity with engineering terminology and workflows is a plus.

Preferred Experience:

3+ years of administrative experience in a technical or engineering environment.

Experience supporting cross-functional teams and managing complex schedules.

Familiarity with project management or engineering tools such as Jira, MS Project, or similar.

Work Environment:

This position operates in an onsite office setting within an engineering environment. The role involves regular collaboration with engineers and cross-functional teams. Candidates should be comfortable balancing administrative and technical support in a fast‑paced setting.
